Bemidji Chapter
The Bemidji Game fair and Pet expo was a huge success this year. For our first year we doubled our expectations. We brought over 2000 spectators through the front gate and registered over 400 dogs. The dock dogs competition brought in 65 of those dogs and over half were local competitors. Willow Creek Kennels from Little Falls, and Brian Bakken of Bemidji put on some fantastic dog training seminars just to name a couple we had. There were over 250 kids that tried the archery and even more than that tried the air rifle. We are all about getting the children away from the tv's and interested in an outdoor activity and I think we did a fantastic job in igniting that spark.
The Game Fair and Pet Expo was great for the community and kids and adults alike. However, it was expensive for us to run. Our only fundraiser of the year is our 2nd Annual Banquet Sept. 18, 2008 at the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. social hour, 7:00 supper. Please join us and join Pheasant Forever. Call Roland Armstrong at 218-368-2099 or e-mail at jrplus4@paulbunyan.net for information. There are also posters and signup forms around town at several locations.
